İzmir Polis Karakoluna Silahlı Saldırıda Genç Tutuklandı
A 16-year-old suspect has been arrested after two police officers were killed in a gun attack on a station in Izmir’s Balçova district, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on Sept. 8. Two other officers were injured, one seriously.
CCTV footage showed the masked assailant firing a rifle at the station before being wounded and detained. Authorities have not disclosed a motive. Izmir has faced past militant attacks, including a 2017 car bombing that killed two people.
