Doha, Qatar – The Israeli army reportedly carried out an assassination attempt on senior Hamas leaders in Qatar’s capital, Doha, with multiple explosions heard in the city. A Hamas source told Al Jazeera the attack occurred while a negotiating team was discussing a U.S.-proposed Gaza ceasefire.

Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich praised the operation, describing it as the “correct decision” and asserting that “terrorists have no immunity from Israel anywhere in the world.”
The U.S. Embassy in Doha issued a shelter-in-place order for its staff and advised American citizens to stay indoors. The White House has declined to comment on the attack, with a briefing scheduled later to address the situation.
